New waste system at SMB Cafe

Check out the new waste system we installed at the SMB cafe.  Previously there was no recycling in the cafe so all those cans, bottles and plastics went into landfill.

Now we have a system that can reduce landfill waste, increase recycling and reduce waste removal costs for UB.  Our next challenge is to adopt a similar system for Mt Helen cafe.

This program was done through an external grant to improve our recycling rates.  The program has also funded new bin lids on all wheelie bins and new signage.

Currently 72% of UB’s waste is still going to landfill.

    Garbage disposal is every body’s problem. The government is always trying their best to educate people how to manage our garbage. The garbage problem is not just happening in every home. It is as well a problem especially to commercial establishment such as fast food. That is why this new waste system installed in SMB cafe is really a big help.
